DOL OVERTIME PROPOSED CHANGES FOR JAN. 1, 2024
The U.S. Department of Labor has proposed a new overtime rule. Aurora HR Consulting is monitoring this proposal and providing our clients with any updates and strategic actions to take now. We are conducting current salary analysis and identifying employees who may be effected.
WHAT
The U.S. DOL is proposing an overtime rule which will raise the weekly salary threshold for exempt employees. This increase will equate to around $55,068 (from $35,568) annually or weekly to $1,059 (from $684). It is estimated that over 1.3 million employees will be eligible for overtime pay under this proposal.
WHAT WE ARE DOING FOR OUR CLIENTS
*Reviewing data for exempt employees that earn below the proposed $55,068 threshold.
*Reviewing each position under the duties test to determine exempt status.
*Updating job descriptions and educating our clients on the risks of wage and hour violations.
*Mitigating risk for our clients by reviewing payrolls, salaries, and reviewing our client's budgets to determine the next steps for our clients.
Aurora HR Consulting is here to help mitigate these challenges.
And as always... we're here to put the 'human' back in Human Resources!
